Getting Started

Follow these steps in order, or jump ahead at your own pace.

Assemble & Mount Your Loom

Snap the interlocking pieces together to form your loom.

Mount to wall for stability or turn the box into an easel for ergonomics.

Prepare Your Workspace

Attach the paper number guide, aligning the tall pin at the top with pin 0, then attaching the rest.

Assemble the phone and spool holders. Feed thread through the spool holder's eye hole, then through the wide end of the wand, then insert foam plug and tie thread to loom anywehre.

Upload Your Photo

Upload your image in the app to generate a custom threading guide.

Follow the photo guide and try lots of photos. Move sliders to optimize and choose line count. Every 500 lines takes about an hour. 3000-4000 lines look best.

Begin

The app speaks and shows the next step, then continues at your pace. It starts at 10-second intervals. Speed up as your skill improves, then slow it down a few clicks to switch from focus mode to relax mode.

Mistakes don't matter, they all disappear behind the other steps. Line after line, this craft is forgiving. No craftsmanship needed.

Helpful Tips for a Smooth Experience

You don't need to rush — this is meant to be enjoyed.

Tip #1

Relaxing pace

Slow it down to enter a calming flow state, or go fast for focus mode. Stim at your own rhythm.

Tip #2

Mistakes Are Okay

Zero craftsmanship needed. If you lose your place or mess up, just keep going - no undoing required. All errors vanish.

Tip #3

Stay Loose

A relaxed mind and hand make the best experience. Take a break from all tension.

Tip #4

Screen-optional

Set your device down for a while and follow your ears for a satisfying break from scrolling.

Remember:

Thread loosely, every step

IMPORTANT: As you loop each step, lay the thread loosely across, making sure not to pull. A gentle drape, not a tug. Tension adds up, and will cause warp, which has a cool effect. A good rule is, if it can be plucked, it's too tight. If unhappy with the first results, remove and repeat. There is enough thread for multiple artworks.
This is a mindful activity. Slow down. Loosen up. Breathe. Smile.

Forget it and just keep going. They will disappear as you keep going. If you lose your place, just continue with the next step. Countless mistakes blend right into the finished piece, so there is no need to hit the back button ever.
